I refuse to watch 2 guys at the same time. What is the reasoning "behind" this? |

They need reasoning now? When did that start?
Just kidding. I believe they are using the dartboard/blindfold randomization technique. |

It was the idea of the Vice President- Offending and Alienating Viewers. _________________ "Ah, but the strawberries! That's, that's where I had them." |

Yes, of course, because we all know women don't watch, right? We all know that they scheule based on the opinion of the 20 or so people on this site and the other site, right? I'm sure nothing else more important goes into the decision. (deleted for personal attack on board member) Please.
The highest rated program is Storm Stories with NO OCM's. Hell, the most popular OCM and face of TWC is Jim Cantore. You'd be suprised how little your opinions matter to anybody in the world, especially the weather channel. But I'm sure you'll tell me how much better you could make TWC just like you tell us every damn time you post.
NO PERSONAL ATTACKS! SAY WHAT YOU WANT ABOUT TWC, BUT DISAGREE WITH EACH OTHER POLITELY! |

I know SS is the highest rated program. Can you answer my question rather than trying to tell me things I already know? |

I think Q-bert did answer your question.
a) sex appeal is NOT the #1 decision in making a schedule. There are vacation issues, availablity issues, giving part timers hours issues, etc, etc. It isn't as simple as you think.
b) If there were sex appeal issues, then you'd have to ask..don't women watch, too? Believe it or not..a TON of women watch. Lots of women travel, have to worry about weather for getting kids to camp, school, sports events (soccer, little leauge, etc).
c) Life issues. How many women, who might be moms, want to work at night? Not a lot! In this era of re-tooling there are a lot, I'm sure, of just filling positions.
d) Unknown things. Maybe there are meetings every night for various things? Maybe they are doing specials for SS or other shows and aren't available for OCM duty.
e) More unknown things. I know there are a few people here who disagree but 99.99999999999999% of what goes on there, or any other network, or any office in the country is unknown to those outside of that situation. It just is what it is. If you don't like it, turn it off. They might just have two guys that they think work together..I mean, who the hell knows and those who get offended need to take a deep breath. It is a tv station broadcasting weather..that is job number one for them.
Does that answer it?? I don't know how else to say that not a single person would know nor should we nor should it matter. |

Thanks! Those are some interesting things to consider. BTW I wasn't looking for inside information, more like speculation. |

Nicely put Adam. There is one other consideration - vacations and back to school, both of which require all sorts of scheduling twists and turns. Look at all the networks. They are plugging people in left and right to fill vacation and the like.
Jeff does have a good point about shearing the demographics, but putting Kristina and Kristin on together this morning has the same effect.
I could not agree more that we really have no idea who or how these decisions are made. |
